The room was great, it had central heating, tea and coffee facilities, and a flat-screen TV with cable channels, which I really liked. the location was perfect, just a short 5-minute walk from the center. the staff were hardworking and got things done efficiently.

We really enjoyed the time here. We particularly liked the quiet location on the rock, as well as the design and architecture of the hotel. There are many beautiful places in the hotel complex, with impressive perspectives, an open fireplace in the bar, and great views of the sea. . The hotel has a perfect WiFi connection. Breakfast is varied and delicious. The town of Ponta Do Sol is small and very beautiful, hardly touristy, with opportunities to eat, go for a walk, and enjoy the view of the sea. . The rooms are kept simple, the bed is very comfortable with plenty of space! On the private terrace you can enjoy the cafe with a view of the sea. Even though we had a garden view room, there was a nice side sea view. The dinner in the hotel and the bar offer everything your heart desires. An Honesty Bar is also open 24/7. . We were mostly on a hike during the day (tip: order a packed lunch at the reception the day before for the best supply for the hike), and enjoyed the hotel in the late afternoon and evening. . A 100% recommendation!

I might have been happy to have a better coffee machine in the room. But I can't think of more than that.

This place has well-designed rooms with excellent bathrooms and extremely comfortable beds.

Super friendly staff, some lovely spaces, even though the hotel was fully booked it didn't feel cramped. Fantastic food at reasonable prices with the £/€ exchange. Beautiful position. Choice of eating in the small town but advised to book!

This place offers excellent food for a delicious and enormous breakfast with views, incredible location on top of a hill providing an amazing view, and very good facilities.

The location, the view and breakfast

There was mould around the shower tap, bath, basin,toilet and biday needed a good clean also cobwebs and spider under basin. Tiles had spots of paint which made it look dirty. Would i stay there again sorry but no. Receptionist need to look a little more presentable specially the females and a smile. They did not ask how was our stay on check out.

Fantastic views from room. Excellent breakfast choice and good cocktails in the bar with log fire. Outside pool just warm enough to swim in. Excellent WI-FI

I enjoyed the spacious room with comfortable robes, a large balcony, and a huge bed, as well as the fantastic service provided, including transportation to nearby cities.

Staff were very helpful and friendly. Food was great and the breakfast was varied and plentiful

The weather prevented us walking down any levada's ( too slippery and dangerous)

The staff are all really pleasant, the indoor pool is lovely and warm, the beds are extremely comfortable and it was a brilliant stay. Staff were very accommodating particularly with regard to my 90 year old mother who for instance needed extra mattresses at the outdoor pool so that she could sit and lie on the sunbed. The indoor pool was a delight for her as the temperature was around 30 - 31C. Also reception organised a wheelchair for us to hire, and arranged for its collection and delivery to the hotel. Free shuttle minibus to Funchal was great. Also other trips seemed fairly price (we had a hire car so didn't use this service). Restaurant and bar waiters were very friendly and helpful. Food in restaurant was fairly priced and was tasty.

Because the weather was so changeable it was extremely windy and therefore difficult for my 90 year old mother to walk from the bedroom to the lift, across the covered but open walkway. Lift exterior could do with decorating. More mattresses needed outside not enough for 1 per bed even before my mother had 6! Indoor pool could do with suitable loungers to make it more pleasant rather than deckchairs. Could do with some more Madeiran cuisine on set menu.

The breakfast here is satisfying, with tasty fresh fruit and lovely views, plus they serve fresh croissants.

Hotel was absolutely stunning!

The staff were very dedicated people with warm and welcoming service from all of the staff, and location was amazing and lovely. The morning meal was delicious and enormous with fresh croissant and local products. Actually everything was outstanding, my next choice again in Ponta do Sol.

The room with an ocean view was great for relaxing. The layout of the hotel is unique with so many levels and stunning views.
